Rationale of Program Offered

Modern residential buildings are subject to a wide range of damage and defects. During its service period, buildings are susceptible to damage in a variety of things, including natural and human behavior factors. These deficiencies need to be detected and repaired on time in order to avoid irreversible damages.Thus, having the knowledge of building defects and skills to repair is essential for sustainable solution. In light of this, Certificate in Building Defects & Repair programme was designed to provide training on necessary hands on skills to repair & rectify various architectural defects.

This training was designed by industrial expert TED Seri Consult Sdn Bhd addressing Human Resources Ministry’s effort to up-skill and re-skill the labour source and setting standard for the industry as well as to ensure the local talent receives training based on
the need of the industry.

In Malaysia, the construction industry can be known as a major productive sector. Construction defects are always the key concern of the industry. There is a growing demand for skilled labour or defect technician who has a good knowledge about building defects and hands on skills & techniques to repair the defects.

Thus, this programme was designed targeting those who are looking for career opportunities and wish to develop knowledge and skills in Building Defects & Repairs. This is an industry driven training to provide quality workforce and fulfilling the shortage of skilled manpower in the industry.
